My name is Nicole Pollis and I’m from Brazil! I attended Global Village back in 2006 during a summer program when I was 13 years old!

It was my very first experience abroad, and I can’t put into words how much it meant to me!

I had a blast!!!

I didn’t know how to speak English really well so I was a little intimidated, however the teachers as well as the staff were always so kind and patient to all of us ! That made me feel hugged and so welcomed!

The classes were fun and I was able to get to know and make friends from all over the world!

Not to mention the location in the heart of Vancouver, which is so convenient!

It was definitely a life changing experience and even though I was so young and immature, the experience made me open my eyes to the world! I believe it was the first turning point!

Nowadays as an adult I work with English and I’m so grateful to have had this opportunity at Global Village at such a young age! I’m sure it influenced my life path in a great way!

I really like Global Village. The teachers helped me to feel more comfortable with my English and to not be afraid of making mistakes. I heard good comments about this school, I have a relative who did an exchange here and he really liked the way of teaching in Global Village. I had an unforgettable experience here. I did not just improve my English, I also learnt from the Canadian culture and from others cultures thanks to the international students. I have stayed here for six months. I went to Lighthouse Park with my friends in a sunny day. We stayed there the whole afternoon, staring at the view and sharing our experiences here. I am going to start university in Colombia and I will continue improving my English as well.

GV is for sure the best English language school in Vancouver. Excellent infrastructure and great teachers. The involvement of the school goes beyond the classroom as it provides extra-class daily activities to promote better student interaction. Studying at GV was one of the best experiences of my life! I recommend it to everyone and hope to go back soon!

It’s been more than 10 years since I first came to Canada and studied at GV in Gastown.
I had the time of my life. So many fond and fun memories. I’ll never forget my first 3 months in Vancouver. I ended up living in BC for 5 years, married to a Canadian. My son, now 4 years old, is half Canadian. And I still keep in touch with some of the friends I made in school.
Thanks GV Vancouver ? greetings from Switzerland – homesick for Canada.

I’ve spent over five weeks at Global Village Vancouver and I count those weeks to the best in my life. The school is very welcoming and caring, which helped a lot to feel comfortable during my stay. All the teachers I’ve met are very competent, understanding and they know how to present the topic in an interesting and catching way. For me, the best thing though was all the awesome and lovely people I got to know at school. I instantly made friends from all over the world, which gave me the opportunity to learn about other interesting cultures besides Canadian culture. I can recommend learning English with GV to everyone who likes to make new experiences, make friends from different parts of the world and improve their English skills.

My husband and I were students at GVV in 2008 for 6 months and had a great time. We enjoyed studying English and sightseeing around Vancouver.

We took a general English course. Our classes were not so big. They usually had less than 10 students. The teachers taught us English by using various methods.

After school we had some activities which the school planned. We joined some of them. We enjoyed watching hockey games, having wine tasting, visiting Whistler and so on.

After 6 months of study we traveled to the Rockies.

Whenever we come to Vancouver, we drop by GVV school to say hello to the teachers and the staff. They welcome us every time.

We thank all GV staff for everything they have done.

It’s been a while since I was in Van… soon 5 years ago I put my first steps in Van; I met and shared so much fun. Not a day passes without missing my amazing time there. This school was like a big family full of love and gave me all I needed at the time. It was an amazing experience studying 6 months in GV. Now I will start University in Psychology in September 2019.

The best decisions I made in 2018 were first of all coming to Canada and second of all choosing GV as my ESL school. I studied in GV for 6months from April to September.

GV was more than just an English school to me. I met amazing teachers and friends here. Siobhan, Robin, and Dave. My awesome teachers. I learned not only English, but also culture, history, life, and friendship in GV.

I started from GV6 and ended up becoming GV8 and I also won the student of the month once. I think could improve my English notably in shorttime because of GV’s motivational atmosphere. Even though I’d never spoken English before, I was not afraid of speaking English with foreign friends in GV. Every teacher tried to make a comfortable, fun and relaxed atmosphere for students and encouraged us to go outside and expose ourselves as much as possible to an English environment. Also through GV’s activity, I could have lots of new experiences and met new friends.

While going to GV, I fell in love with Vancouver and decided to stay here. So now I am working in Vancouver as a keyholder. Without GV, it would have been impossible to do all this. Global Village is like a home to me. I really want to say thank you to GV for all the support and amazing memories.

If you are looking for an ESL school to improve English and have amazing experiences at the same time, I highly recommend Global Village. You won’t regret it.
