Your time is important and for this reason most people prefer the 4-week full-time course because your input and practicum start on the first day. We have also created a 5-week option where you will do one week of input before starting your practicum. This will alleviate some of the challenge associated with the 4-week course.

CELTA course in Vancouver averages 8 or fewer candidates. That means a candidate to trainer ratio of 4-to-1. Cambridge regulations dictate that there can be no more than 6 candidates per trainer.

While our CELTA course includes a number of work-related sessions at the end of the course, our support does not at the end of the course. We run a closed Facebook group where graduates can network and we can easily attach job postings sent directly to us. Lisa and Brad are also happy to act as references and offer advice as you begin your job search. The CELTA is also recognized world wide as part of Cambridge Assessment English. Cambridge Website

We have an extensive in-house library so CELTA candidates will not need to waste time trying to use a library outside the school. Our CELTA course Vancouver training centre can be accessed from 7:30am to 8pm Monday to Friday and includes a computer lab, photocopier and any teaching aids you might need to plan your lessons. Each classroom contains a computer and document camera.

Your teaching practicum is included in the CELTA program. You will be teaching two or three times each week and you will receive ample guidance for each lesson.

We always accept resumes from new and experienced teachers. However, there is no guarantee that we are always hiring or that our school will be the best fit for you. Feel free to check with the program director about employment options at Global Village and throughout the Vancouver area.

For starters, the CELTA is a Cambridge-developed-and-certified program which guarantees a higher quality of teaching preparation than other private programs. Also, it includes your teaching practicum which may not be part of an online program. Finally, consider what requirements your future employment will need. Look at job ads, contact schools, and do your research. You will find that most established schools will need a CELTA certificate from any teaching staff.
